Epic Games has asked the court to deny Apple’s claims that it is not making good on its promise for anti-steering measures. Epic says that they are working with Samsung to block third parties from accessing players’ accounts, but Apple has moved forward with implementing their own restrictions.

Epic Games is asking a court to deny Apple the right to postpone its anti-steering measures that would destroy their ability to make money off of Fortnite.

Epic has asked the court to deny Apple the right to postpone its anti-steering measures. Epic is arguing that Apple’s request for a preliminary injunction should be denied because it would cause irreparable harm to their business.

So, let’s take a quick look back. Epic’s one big triumph in its case against Apple was in persuading consumers to exclusively buy cash through Apple’s shop. The court declared the practice to be unconstitutional and set a deadline of December 9th for Apple to enable purchase directly via ways approved by app developers. However, Apple has filed an appeal and urged to the court that any modifications should be delayed until the appeal process is finished.

Epic is now arguing in court that Apple should not be allowed this extension and that the business should stick to the original deadline, claiming that Apple’s appeals procedure may take years and that the firm has failed to demonstrate any meaningful damage from the policy change. It’s worth noting that Epic has also been warned that Fortnite won’t be put back on the store until Apple has exhausted its appeals, so it’s unclear if refusing this move will have any immediate consequences for Epic.
