The movie Field of Dreams tells the story of a farmer who builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield and creates a magical moment when he hears the sound of baseballs being hit. It is an inspirational tale about hope, dreams, and believing in something bigger than yourself.
The field of dreams quotes is a movie that was released in 1989. It follows the story of Kevin Costner who believes that if he builds a baseball field on his farm, it will bring him success.
The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox traveled to Iowa (not Heaven) to compete in Major League Baseball’s first “Field of Dreams” game, which was hosted adjacent to the renowned baseball field made famous by Kevin Costner’s film of the same name.
A voice informed Costner’s Ray Kinsella, “If you create it, they will come.” The Yankees and White Sox were the ones who constructed the field, not Kinsella. They then proceeded to walk away. Literally.
With a man on base in the bottom half of the ninth inning, Chicago’s Tim Anderson blasted a no-doubter to right that disappeared into the cornfield, and the White Sox won 9-8.
You’re the one who’s weeping, not me.
One of the most well-known sports films of all time is Field of Dreams.
Anderson confessed to ESPN that he had never even watched the film. In such scenario, he is completely unaware of what he has just done.
Both teams went through the cornrows and onto the pitch before the game. When the 1919 White Sox leave the field, they slowly fade away through the cornrows. It’s difficult to put into words how a Chicago player finished the game in a walk-off manner by making a baseball vanish into the cornfield.
The game ‘Field of Dreams’ had the most beautiful, amazing finish of all time.

Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton of the New York Yankees each hit home runs in the top of the ninth inning, Judge’s second of the game and his seventh overall. Anderson brought the total to eight.
The ninth-inning rally by New York set the stage for Chicago’s second baseman. And, of course, the movie’s club, the Chicago White Sox, triumphed on a walk-off home run. After all, why not?
The Yankees could appreciate how remarkable the game, and Anderson’s home run, was even if they lost.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone remarked, “That was as unique and beautiful a setting for a baseball game as I’ve ever been a part of.”
“Baseball has been the one constant over the years, Ray.”
According to IMDb, Terrance Mann, played by James Earl Jones, says in the film:
“And they’ll be watching the game as though they’ve dipped their toes in magical waters. They’ll have to sweep the memories away from their faces because they’ll be so thick. Ray, people will arrive. Baseball has been the one constant over the years, Ray. The United States of America has rolled past like a legion of steamrollers. It’s been erased, recreated, then erased again, like a chalkboard. Baseball, on the other hand, has recorded the passage of time. This field, this game, Ray, is a relic of our past. It reminds us of all that was once wonderful and might be again.”

Baseball, long the most popular sport in the United States, has faded into the background like the White Sox into the cornfield. The NFL, NBA, Nascar, and sometimes even the NHL have risen to prominence. But, as Mann suggests, it may once again be America’s pastime.
“Is this Heaven?” says the narrator. Near the conclusion of the film, Ray’s father, John, inquires.
Ray replies, “No.” “It’s Iowa,” says the narrator.
John comments, “I could have sworn that was Heaven.” Baseball reigned supreme for one night, as Anderson’s ball soared into the night sky and above Judge’s head. It was Heaven for one night as it vanished into the fields.
